124. Resident Evil 4 (2023)
Probably my GOTY for that year now. It faithfully adapts one of my favorite games of all time with a darker, more horror-focused coat of paint. The action is nigh as fun as classic, if not more at times, and the only critique I have is I wish it took itself less serious.

123. Choose or Die (2022)
Pretty weird and interesting horror movie, but nothing special in the grand scheme of things. I guess I do like the idea behind it though.

122. Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022)
I just... Didn't really get what this film was trying to say? It feels like it wants to talk about Gen Z in a constructive way but the characters just feel like caricatures and have basically no personality outside "Gen Z Stereotype A" and "Gen Z Stereotype B".

121. Happy Gilmore (1996)
Funny golf movie. Had a good time watching this with a friend, I'd say it's my favorite golf movie but it's also the only one I've seen.

120. Until Dawn (2025)
Lame ass movie. I don't have much to say beyond that it is certainly a video game film adaptation.

119. The Suicide Squad (2021)
Much better than the original, and I'm glad the actors got another chance. Superhero movies aren't particularly my thing but I thought this was just a good, goofy time.

118. The Truman Show (1998)
This movie is a fucking emotional masterpiece. I genuinely cannot recommend it enough, there is nothing quite like it and thus it tackles themes and ideas I don't think any other movie has before or since.

117. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (2024)
Never before have I had such complicated feelings on a game. Rebirth is at its best an emotional rollercoaster that can make me feel things no other game can, and at its worst a complete slog of minigames and messed up retreads of the OG. It's... Good, I guess.

Please repost this if you can. While we haven't spoken much, this is still a friend of mine and the situation is urgent.

116. The Interviewed (2019)
I watched this in a call with my friends @zdogg667.bsky.social and @kallmekoto.bsky.social during the latter's birthday. My Internet was regrettably a bit fucky but from what I could tell, I'm impressed. All this from a fan series? That's awesome.

115. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (2025)
Finally, some good fucking RPG. This gave me something a lot of modern RPGs don't and told a very unique, interesting story that reminded me of classic Final Fantasy- The best of the best, while very much doing its own thing. Absolutely one of the GOATs.

114. Jurassic World Rebirth (2025)
This is possibly the most boring and soulless thing I have ever watched. Do yourselves a favor and skip it. Seriously. Me and my friends had no interest or idea in anything that was going on beyond cracking up at the dumb bullshit in the movie.

113. Digimon World Dusk (2007) (REPLAY)
I genuinely don't know how many times I've replayed this game, but I will continue to do so in the future as a very simple, fun comfort game. Collecting Digimon and running around the Digital World never gets bored despite the glaring issues with the game.

112. Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus (2019)
They ended the series with a bang. Seriously, this was way better than it had any right to be with how it delivered in terms of characterization, animation, and concluding the narrative.

A very fun show I kinda wish I saw as a kid. Granted maybe the organ-harvesting episode would've given me nightmares, but still.

110. The Monkey (2025)
A very bizarre Stephen King adaptation I already forgot mostly about. Some nice kills though.

The issue with Final Fantasy isn't that it's not turn-based for me. 16 was a disappointment because of lackluster combat and a story that falls apart towards the end. I really don't care what they do with FF as long as it's good, but 6 - 10 feels like a bygone era now. Those were the gold standard.

-which is a shame cause most of these have the potential to be good stories. Final Fantasy XVI was so close but then backflipped into a volcano for no reason. At least that one had good dialogue.

Clair Obscur is the closest thing I have to the greats like classic FF and Xenogears. It's great.

I love JRPGs, they're my favorite genre, even. But as a cynical and bitter 22 year-old so many of them frustrate me with how juvenile or tropey they can be sometimes.
I'm so much lower on stuff like Persona 5 and other anime-inspired games than other people cause I can't stand the writing sometimes-

Unfortunately internet nerds care more about who's better for kissing Cloud than about them as people or their characters.

It's so frustrating because it's objectifying, degrading, and reductive all at once and serves to achieve nothing.
