I only allow my white goods to do a check on the 1st of each month, then I turn off the wifi for them.

I'm not the biggest fan of T&T, but wit the new T&T I will once again check it out, especially as you're working on it. I wish people would WAIT until something is released to have an opinion, but sadly that logic isn't reality.

One day I'll run the full campaign, I need to do that before I pass beyond this mortal coil. I shall forever remember (I hopet) the cover to the various Enemy Within books, such great art that inspired such a wonderful game.

I code along when the music is playing a lot, as it oddly helps me focus, I blame that on my autism though.

I need to get back into that part of the hobby.

We tech folk spend so much time doing such boring stuff that we self-combust in eagerness to continue to repeat the process, doing something else similar.

My backup process = automate the Smart plug -> powers up the Pi, the PI fetches the two backups and stores them, then shutsdown'.

On a day like today, I am tidying (have been), started coding a new side project (ongoing), built my NAS backup unit (complete) and fetched myself a fresh brew.

My better half is lovely and wonderful and amazing (we're 27 years in!) but she recently (2 years ago) got bit by a large dog and that's given her a new fear level++++++

Part of my wants, was to offload all my files on OneDrive/Google Drive etc, and I've managed that, so those Cloud services will no longer be using my files for AI, or be hacked and stolen.

This has meant that I'm currently speccing a backup unit...even though the NAS uses SHR-1 fault tolerance.

I went and bought a NAS. I wish I'd gone with UGreen rather than Synology (I hate the hardware tie-in), but it's solved a lot of issues I had with older boxes and tech.

I use Plex, it runs on the NAS, and (touch wood) has been faultless.

My setup is overkill, but hey, I've enjoyed building it.

I moved from that hell a few years ago and haven't looked back. I have high hopes that this place remains a safer place. However, I've had to take time away as I have so little energy at times.

I'm late to this party, but I wouldn't have thought you needed anything like a Mac Mini to run a home server. I have a little Rasp Pi doing my duties.

I feel for you, buddy, as I also share a lot of those things, and I find grabbing every win makes things a bit easier, so well done putting in those runners and may the drawers continue to open and close easily!

I stopped going into a Tesco near work, as some of the odd bits I pick up (Nakd bars, for example) went from £2:20 to £3.50 for non-club card. But they all do this, I just happen to have a Nectar card.

This house is a safe space for anyone in the LBTQ+ community, the Neurodiverse community, in fact, anyone that wants a safe space away from the Hate.

The old 'Be in our club or we'll charge you a lot more', you'd think that would lose them customers.
