Even with DST, we get sunrise at 4am. Would be 3am without it. It works well here imo with such radically different amount of daylight between winter and summer. Winter sunrise at 9/9:30am instead of 10/10:30am as well.

Technology promises us so much but in the process takes so much from us.

It was cynical challenge but a classic orange to yellow card. Slow it down and see that he barely brushes a shin and turn it into a red.

There may have been some fire hazards warnings before 2024-2025, but they aren't the immediate cause of the fire! For me, the longer decline can be traced back to 2018 but the real disasters were summer of 2024 and onward.

Udogie maybe. Kudus and Bergvall in April, I think for Sunderland.

Spurs needed a reason to believe. Main character Cristian Romero gave them one

of course the red card was atrocious, but Romero has taken us on his back to get draws against Newcastle and Burnley. Have to hope that some of what @jackpittbrooke.bsky.social calls his main character energy lifts Spurs in the coming months. www.nytimes.com/athletic/685...

There's lno promise on the pitch, but we can hope that the return of Romero, Kudus, Bergvall, and Udogie plus huge fixtures against Forest, Sunderland, Leeds, Brighton, Wolves and Everton can bring some change.

"We're going to go on offence, not just on defence. Maximum lethality, not tepid legality. Violent effect, not politically correct." - Hegseth back in 2025 when they renamed the Dept of Defense to the Dept of War. This is the hell that their masculine hubris and violent obsessions have wrought.

Where things stand with the Department of War A statement from Dario Amodei

I think one of the most staggering industry shifts in my 16 years as a tech reporter is that it’s not become a question of β€œshould our product help the government kill and/or surveil people?” but β€œto what extent?”

fortunately, they're all safe-if also anxious and traumatised-and worried about their well being, the well being of their families, and friends. My students from the region here in Scotland are almost more anxious as they feel the dissonance of everyone going on as if life is normal, when it's not.

Sport matters deeply to me, probably too much so, but I am reminded of its rightful place in the world again this morning. Reading about the 'apocalyptic' horror facing Spurs is nothing compared to messaging with my PhD students who are currently in Jerusalem, Beirut, and Abu Dhabi.

for sure, but Sunderland have been pretty poor of late even if they've squeaked out results. It's not Anfield and in theory, we should have Kudus, Udogie, and Bergvall back by then.

They were so convinced by their own corporate speak about right process and organisational realignment that they couldn't see the main priority right in front of their damn eyes!
