Functioning democracies know who can vote & invite them proactively to do so. Citizens get ballot info / instructions. Should non-citizens be allowed to vote (i.e. regional or mayoral) they know it too.

AFAIK only in the US people can roam around lifelong w/o ID if they choose to do so.

Yes, this having to register to vote is another thing to make it hard for people to vote. In Germany, everyone who qualifies is able to vote by default

Russia has exerted itself with Ukraine and is in a weak position. So, instead of saving Ukraine, Trump with Napoleonic or Hitleresque character uses the opportunity to expand US influence and territory elsewhere in the world.

The difference: Having ID which shows your Nationality is law in most countries. And everyone has one starting age 16. Americans can roam around a lifetime with a driver's license which literally shows nothing.
