The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion, after getting $1.2 trillion richer over the past year alone.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is getting squeezed by tariffs and high prices for groceries, utilities, and health care.

The system is broken.

Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.

ICE threw me and other protestors to the ground on Friday because we dared to stand up for our neighbors. I’m okay, but our communities aren’t.

We can't afford apathy or inaction from our leaders right now. Abolishing ICE is a moral necessity.

The murder of Charlie Kirk was criminal, wrong, and should be condemned.

And Charlie Kirk was a horrible, hateful man who spent his life radicalizing young people to embrace their worst demons by targeting women, people of color, immigrants, and the marginalized.

I refuse to sanitize him.

Community solar makes subtle gains in capacity, but bold moves in policy across the U.S. Many states made steady gains in community solar capacity last quarter while other states fought for the ability to have community solar capacity.

NY is in the top five states for installed community solar capacity.

"Community solar enables people and businesses to participate in clean energy regardless of whether they are homeowners or renters, or able to put solar panels on their roof."

It really is incredible how despite a half-century of expanding executive power, ballooning the debt, bloating the government, and policing private behavior, the GOP is still discussed as the party of small government libertarianism and fiscal responsibility. Just no relation to reality at all.

Damn‼️ Federal agents blew a door off for this?

Federal agents blasted their way into an LA home where Jenny Ramirez lives with her boyfriend and two kids.

She heard the blast while checking on her 6-year-old, with her 1-year-old in her arms.

Ramirez says everyone in the home is a U.S. citizen.

Criminalizing pregnancy: A record number of women were prosecuted the year after Dobbs They were targeted for substance use, miscarriages, and stillbirths, largely driven by fetal personhood laws.

Today marks the third anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

What's happened since?

A record number of women have been prosecuted. Pregnancy loss is now considered extremely suspicious, even when it has nothing to do with abortion.

Immigration and the care economy are uniquely linked. As I told @emilypeck.bsky.social the relationship between a care worker and the disabled or aging person is the foundation of care. The actions of the administration stoking understandable fear in immigrant communities will impact care.
