I get very sick of people saying that local governments can’t do anything about global problems. Most car trips in cities are under 3 miles - we could absolutely get more people using bikes or riding transit at the local level!

"Progressives" who are believers in things like climate change and oppose what's happening in DC, but fight any kind of local change like bike lanes or reduced parked are just the most frustrating people ever. Because they generally 'get it' and are good people but: local stuff is important!
