Despite it all, waking up to a blanket of fresh snow is still quietly thrilling. Adding coffee and sitting quietly in a still-dark room brings an unmatched calm.

My watch: “You can still do it!!!!”
Me: Yeah, NO. I’m hammered, I’ve had two big helpings of food, and it’s after 8 PM. I’ll be in bed in an hour.

Demi Moore on GG nod:

"I don't want to make it mean too much. But I have to remember: don't make it mean too little…then you miss the moment of the joy and really the beauty of all [it took] to get to this point."

Yes yes yes! Don’t lose out on your celebrations with your efforts to be demure.

Not to expose my Gen X-ness, but this whole UHC manhunt has been giving me “Legend of Billie Jean” vibes, complete with Pat Benatar singing “Invincible.”

I had to stop playing RCT back in the day because I would lose entire weekends. Hardly eating, sleeping, or socializing. I would suddenly realize it was 5 AM on Monday morning and I had to start thinking about work. I really want to try out PC2, but…that HABIT.

First list of banned books in Knox County Schools released, schools have until winter break to remove them The list was sent out to teachers and contains 48 books that are scheduled for removal from Knox County public school libraries.

Knox County TN conservatives relieving students and parents from the bother of choice. You may wonder, “why not just create a ‘restricted’ section where parents can grant permission for their children?” Well…the officials know better, so there you go. It’s only the beginning of what’s coming.

I’m getting hot thinking about all the sound card and video driver conflicts—this post needs to calm TF down.

So what was the long Thanksgiving weekend damage? Five lbs. gained over the past eight days. I’m calling it a protective winter layer.

Very little surprises me these days, but I have to admit I didn’t see the Hallmark Channel/NFL crossover movie “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story” coming. What ever could be next in our new dystopian idiocracy?

As someone who has been coding since the 80’s, I’ve come to realize everything about it is designed to be soul-killing.

I adore “Wicked.” I took my late mom, her husband, and my sister to see it on Broadway back in the day, so it holds a special place. That being said, I can already tell I’ll be all “Wicked”-out by the time this holiday season wraps up.

Chicago’s first snow. Summer and Fall have given us their long, languorous best this year. But winter arrives, delayed perhaps, but never defeated.

Bleachers’ new song “Merry Christmas, Please Don’t Call” is absolutely heartbreaking. It feels so personal, like a conversation I shouldn’t be listening to.
