I’ve been stuck at home the last 5 days with a bad case of the flu. Had to miss almost a full week of work, but managed to read this amazing book so not all is lost. #booksky

The world is falling apart and I’m angry but there’s also a continuously growing memorial at work for a roach that died a month ago and no one has cleaned up. Today he got a coffin:

What a disservice 😞

Wow that’s bleak. I think the worst part is that so many kids now don’t even know HOW to read. I’m scared for when they’re adults and have zero reading comprehension. Things will be interesting in about 10 years when we see the long term results from all of this.

My kid is in 1st grade and the teacher told me that in-class reading of books is completely gone from the curriculum. And my niece in junior high doesn’t have any novels or anything like that in her curriculum either. It’s so sad

Went on StoryGraph to track my recent reading and realized that I had stopped reading around the time I started my new job. Which is also when I hit my sewing slump. Anyway, I’ve been busy and tired, but I’m finding my hobbies again!
