This was my first attempt: a feathered ear cuff. The bell acts as a counterweight, since the feathers like to catch the wind.

Looks kind of shabby up close, to be honest. But I'm still proud of it!

A blue, anthro deer is doing bench presses, and an anthro fox is spotting him. The deer's antlers are ripping up his spotter's legs, causing bleeding.

I was so scared someone would crush it. I cupped my hands around it and brought it out to the courtyard, back into the sunset air.

After dinner, I took a lap around the neighborhood but I didn't pass by any other fireflies. Or maybe I did, and they were simply drowned out by the glow of the city.

27 years on this Earth, and I had never seen a firefly in the wild.

But just today, grabbing dinner in a crowded bar, one was blown in through the window. Flashing green, it hovered above my plate. Slow blinking like a cell tower beacon.
