Still trying every day to learn something from the past, survive the present, and figure out how to make a better future. Also, I like trains.

I still remember the US Coast Guard actively lobbying against the other branches of the service to have Selective Ability removed, and then helping to implement Differential GPS as a workaround (one so effective that it more or less killed of the rationale for SA).

Seven out of the eight people standing behind him appear to be women. He's described as making a speech about protecting women, but apparently not protecting them from the freezing rain.

I had not known he worked as first AD on Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence. That's a pretty cool early credit there.

I may be looking for a book editor late 2026-early 2027ish, but I'm still not close enough to finishing the research phase to know my exact timeline. Archives are frustrating!

Tom Scott made this harder with his clue describing it as a "train" that was driven down the street rather than just a locomotive. I feel like it might have been easier to guess knowing it was just the latter.

Scene from the movie Marathon Man (1976): a group of young punks is clustered in a narrow hallway; some of them are pointing guns in the general direction of the viewer. One punk is kneeling, in the middle of attempting to jimmy the lock on a door. He has turned his head toward the camera and is saying "blow it out your ass motherfucker."

Instead of trying to green cars so much why don't we just invest in trains. city trains. under ground trains. above ground trains. trains between cities. trains between countries. TRAINS

THE PEOPLE CRAVE TRAINS
