It’s dark, it’s German, it’s not quite what I’ve had before. For my mostly dead taste buds, this leans more on the quality and technique involved in its malt than more modern gimmicks like specialized hops and barrel-aging.

It’s a barleywine. Maybe a bit darker than usual, but it’s my favorite type of beer done well.
