I was protesting American abuse of power and of protesters back when we drafted 18 year olds and sent them to Vietnam to repress a nationalist uprising against 19th Century colonial rule. I gave up on presumed American good faith around the My Lai massacre. Turned out we were addicted to that power.

Portland is still weird. We did a naked bike ride to protest ice, it was pretty weird. And over on the coast at Newport, where we’re fighting against a new ice facility, there are still plenty of weirdos, leaving glitter on the floors of the local supermarket. But I definitely get the point.
