American Democrats are “high road” pilled. Decades of media story telling where never fighting back and submitting to authorities are shown as the only way to be moral have convinced these people that “we get our shit kicked in, but at least we mind our Ps and Qs” is good actually.

I think there’s a chance this is a response to the progressive wins in the recent midterm. The only thing the Schumer’s Democrats fear more than Republicans is young progressives. Schumer may genuinely believe that democratic socialists are more dangerous than Trump and he’s trying to kill momentum.

Ironically, caving at this point kinda makes all those “it’s the democrats fault” banners Trump had them put on government websites correct.
