Today marks two years since Hamas’s horrific attack on Israel - the worst attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust.

We stand with Jewish communities against hate and terror.

Our goal remains clear: free the hostages, get aid into Gaza, and build a lasting peace.

Pupils to benefit from more specialist teachers in classrooms Aspiring teachers can get up to £31,000 tax free through bursaries and scholarships, as the government boosts efforts to attract more great teachers.

In our first year, we got more children back in our classrooms and more expert teachers at the front of them – Labour is fixing the foundations of our schools.

But we’re doing more to recruit 6,500 teachers with financial incentives to Get Into Teaching.

Yesterday I joined the Jewish Community Council of Gateshead for a discussion and a walk round Bensham.

We stand with them in this time of grief and will work together to root out antisemitism from our society.

Every community must be safe in Britain.

My thoughts are with all those affected by the horrific attack on a synagogue in Manchester this morning and with the Jewish community on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year.

My thanks to our emergency services for their response.
