Some indies just never move away from Switch such as Pizza Tower, Baba is You or Into the Breach. I wouldn't hold my breath, but I would love to be wrong!

It is probably because people worried we didn't get a dedicated direct for first-party games. But considering what we got so far and what's in the horizon, I am content with the Switch 2. Nintendo learned a lot from the WiiU or 3DS days.

Some standalone filler was okay but some of those arcs felt stagnant and lifeless. It was even funnier that during intense moments in the Canon story characters would ask another if they remember a certain event only to flashback to a new filler arc. Yay.

My biggest gripe is friend codes still existing. It is 2025 and this incredibly antiquated system has to go. The fact the WiiU never used friend codes makes this even more preposterous.

This probably was the best #stateofplay yet. The variety of games alone more than made up for the "one more thing" style of announcement. Sure having a new First Party announcement would've been amazing, but the amount of new games coming both this and next year is great!
