4) My pets. It is an indescribable joy to share my life and home with them. They are home.

5) Living. These days have not always been assured.

6) College students. They can be frustrating as hell sometimes, but I am so thankful I get to interact with them as they are wondrous more often than not.

2) Sobriety. I have never been more clear-eyed about what I need to do to make the world a better place. The power and peace that come from that are unmatched. Having a family that supports me in these pursuits is divine.

3) Contemplation. Like most sober people, prayer has become essential for me.

My list is similar to Zach's and, of course, starts with

1) Family. I have a partner who loves me enough to force me to get out of my own way (and she's a kick-ass lawyer and cfb blogger to boot!). I'm the luckiest son and brother in the world. My SiL is a good friend and wonderful mother. Blessed.

I've never been able to successfully scheme how to not read around 5 or 6 books at a time.

This is no pronouncement of the depths of my intellect. I just have severe attention deficit that has thus far served me well.

It's a real not practicing what I preach situation for how I guide students tho.
