SF that portrays the solutions to IRL problems (like sweatshops and worker exploitation) as an example of human privilege, laziness, or decadence, seems 'too cool for school'.
Accept that poverty will always be inesacapable if you want, but don't complain to me when people go elsewhere for hope.

#Writing "The story of robots is always a story about slavery."
You know you're a nerd when nerd philsosphy annoys the heck out of you.
Once upon a time, before SF was synonymous with dystopia, manufactured tools, like robots, offered an end to structural poverty.

#internettruths fact exists somewhere in IRL spacetime.
Sympathetic circumstances are possible either by dint of honest emotional impact or extensive social engineering.
Therefore, every exaggeration that can be constructed is gospel.

Once upon a time they might have been passionate about their products but cost cutting over time suggests that few will consume their own products over time. End stage capitalism as a cornucopia of meh.

NHS official pushed to add patient data to Palantir platform whilst also advising company
A lobbyist who worked directly for Peter Mandelson, on the Palantir board, and on the board of *four* NHS trusts.
Lobbying the NHS to hand over even more patient data to Palantir.
This absolutely stinks. Get Palantir out of the NHS. Sign my petition:

#WarOfTheSpiderQueen books one and six in the series offer a kind of horror vibe to the action that I liked. The other books presented factional conflicts with less of that. I didn't find them quite as interesting as a result.
Fantasy doesn't need to have horror elements b they fit this setting.

#WarOfTheSpiderQueen a six novel series about the consequences of a goddess of chaos withholding her power from her priestess theocracy. One character has a bit of spiritual epiphany in the series but they're action books. The consequences are mostly temporal and violent in nature.

Itβs looking increasingly likely that Kristi Noem and Lewandowski funneled almost 200 million in government money to a company that is run by her friend and that nobody can give an address for.
Oh, and it was 8 days old when it was awarded the contract.

PETITION: Don't Let the Federal Government Regulate Your Reading
Not one country's freedom and liberty has ever been increased by banning books.
The Federal Book Ban bill uses funding threats to pressure schools to remove books.
Federal control over local policy - and federal control of reading, writing, and publishing - is unacceptable.
Sign the petition to stop it. action.everylibrary.org/hr_7661 via @everylibrary.bsky.social

Because she was working with a federal task force, she was considered a federal officer, and thus protected by SCOTUS rulings making it all but impossible to sue federal cops, even for egregious abuse.
Now consider what this means for Trump's immigration thugs.
Democrats had two years to fix this.

A 13 yo Muslim boy shot in the head. The Times of India headline already declares it 'accidental', even though he was basically abducted & even the UP police have opened an investigation against 4 including the relative of a BJP leader. 'the childβs father said, βIt was a pre-planned murder.β'
