i haven't even watched it yet because ive heard mark's rant and went to look at the stream and that was 5 hours....i dont think i got 5 hours of this in me.

i am more judgemental of poppy specifically because they clearly have the budget and skills to do better, but they don't because they want to keep the story dragging on to sell more toys and games. it's a discredit to the hard work the artists and programmers put in for the writing to be so bad

on the other side, there are some mascot horror things that are like, real genuine fun ideas by people who like the genre and want to make more of it because it's fun to juxtapose nostalgia with horror.

it was nfts. and basically people were suspicious they made the game to sell toys, which, at this point i dont think they can pretend that wasn't the purpose of this. the writing is so....not genuine. they can't possibly think that people find the button signs scary at this point.

its a shame too be the artists and animators and voice actors are doing a GREAT job. its just the writing and level design thats kind of a hot mess. its COULD be good which is why its frustrating.

And like, in other mascot horror things, some shit makes no sense, but its usually ON PURPOSE for a LAUGH. In poppy it feels like they’re serious. They want us to be scared by this nonsense. It’s really about time someone said it out loud that its just not good.
