So, while I do find that Claude Opus 4.5 does have some real solid strengths, and I really like some of the text and responses it gives me...it feels like I'm not too worried about people using Claude to try and copy our illustration style and produce high-quality coloring pages.
Finally, I gave the EXACT SAME PROMPT to Claude. Nothing different. Nope.
Result:
Next up was Gemini (Nano Banana).
Result: quite intriguing. It felt a lot more like our style, and it had some really fun shapes and coloring and designs. And hey, I guess since they got rid of Joseph and it's just Jesus and two Marys in the stable...that's pretty progressive.
So, first I asked ChatGPT to take a shot at it.
Result: fine. Looks like a lot of what you'd find if you googled "Baby Jesus Nativity Coloring Page." Pretty generic, and...fine.
John the Baptist baptizing Jesus.
First, here are typical coloring pages we create.
06.12.2025 05:05 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0But with the advancement of image generation capabilities, why couldn't someone just go to ChatGPT and say, "Make me a coloring page for Luke 2:1-7 (Christmas/Nativity) in the style of Illustrated Ministry." Does that mean a portion of our business will be obsolete at some point. So I ran a test.

I run a small, independent publishing company @illustratedmin.bsky.social and we use AI in a number of ways for the business. However, one thing we make are kick-ass coloring pages that are inclusive, progressive, and better than most.

Generational thing? Who knows. But I'm interested in others' experiences.
I've had some somewhat long conversations with ChatGPT, and while sometimes buggy, I've enjoyed them, especially when driving around.
My kids, however...there are legitimately freaked out by it. My daughter asked me something a few months ago that I didn't know the answer to...
@kevinroose.com @caseynewton.bsky.social Guys. A comment/question and then a quick story. I'd love for you guys to fit into your conversation sometime how people are navigating the differences between engaging with AI chatbots via typing, apps, desktop, etc., and actually speaking to them.

(around an image of the No Kings logo) IT’S OFFICIAL Nearly 7 million people have attended today's peaceful protests, which makes No Kings Day the biggest single-day protest against tyranny in American history! With more than 2,700 lawful and peaceful protests across all 50 states, No Kings Day was 14 times larger than both of Trump's presidential inaugurations (combined).

I enjoy Jimmy Kimmel but I'm not a hardcore fan or anything, but this decision to indefinitely pull his show just hit me hard this evening. It's just so fucking ridiculous that we live in a country where the right can bitch about 'cancel culture' and then they LITERALLY cancel people.
