Adding on to the "get an Apple Silicon Air" chorus - it's an incredible machine. There are no fans in it, so it's completely silent. It will throttle the CPU to keep temps in check so don't plan on, say, converting 4K video at desktop speed, but it mostly handles whatever I throw at it.
