This week a Republican congressman called for the denaturalization of a Democratic elected official, invoking a key mechanism through which the Holocaust was perpetrated.

In response, Democratic Party leaders have rushed to cable news to declare that the Republicans have a point about that guy.

The historic Black press and the attempt to criminalize journalists I've long thought about the potential for U.S. journalists to be jailed in America for doing our jobs. We should remember how the government came after Black journalists in the not-so-distant past.
