My impression about what happened in Dallas yesterday was to stop the Black woman from winning the primary. This election looked to me so suss.

Balint to Noem: "You're the secretary of DHS -- for now. And you think you're immune from accountability. But I promise you this: one day he is not gonna be president anymore. And when that day comes, we will still be here. And in hearings like this, we are going to continue to prove your guilt."

Santa says: tax oil and gas billionaires, fund our state
YouTube video by Fairbanks Climate Action Coalition Santa says: tax oil and gas billionaires, fund our state

When @santaclausalaska.bsky.social says it’s time to close the S Corp tax loophole, you know it’s time to close the S Corp tax loophole.

Tell legislators: fund our state services, save the PFD, and make oil and gas corporations pay their fair share.

Take action: fbxclimateaction.org/SB227

Alaska population loss looms with fewer births and more deaths in an aging population | Alaska Beacon Alaska, even though it has higher birth and fertility rates that the most states, has a trend parallel to the national demographic trend.

As an extraction colony Alaska doesn’t really need a resident population. 44% of miners in Alaska are nonresidents, 40.5% of oil/gas workers were nonresidents. K-12 education and even the blessed permanent fund dividend are a drag on resource extraction profits. alaskabeacon.com/briefs/alask...

Alex Aronson: The Reality of Trump’s Rigged Courts Can we count on the judiciary to save us? Here's what the data says

Trump nominated judges (& the Roberts #SCOTUS) "are behaving differently from their Republican peers in a way that consistently benefits Trump. The simplest explanation is the correct one: they were selected not for their legal reasoning, but for their loyalty."

This would result in 27 justices on SCOTUS, with 9 being selected at random per case and the option to appeal en-banc if there’s a 5-4 decision

I agree, quite apart from the merits of the case. Alito could only defend the Supreme Court's authority to intervene by grievously misrepresenting the facts. The reality is that there's no plausible argument SCOTUS had the power to do what it did. Why didn't that matter to six justices?
