Bro A: we need to stop helping other countries. Let them figure that shit out.
Bro B: But then no one will help us if we get attacked.
A: No one would ever attack us.
B: China?
A: Nah. Not after we dropped those A bombs on them.
Send. Help.

We love Bloomfield, NJ!
04.12.2024 00:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Until these legal and financial questions are resolved, the BOE should refuse to engage with the Township about this property. Bloomfield deserves better than political games and taxpayer-funded mistakes. #BloomfieldNJ #Accountability # #NoDoubleTaxBurden
(10/10)
Those responsible (the current mayor, Jenny Mundell, especially) are now trying to dump this mess onto the BOE. An investigation is needed to determine if the original purchase was legal.
(9/10)
A concrete plan must be established before the next electionβor before the federal government audits the townβs ARP spending.
(8/10)
The BOE wasnβt involved in the original VoTech purchase. Both the township and the BOE represent Bloomfield taxpayers. Shifting this costly mistake between them doesnβt change the fact that taxpayers are footing the bill. Stop the double burden of taxes on Bloomfield!
(7/10)
Any change in the propertyβs useβlike transferring it to the Board of Education (BOE)βcould require forfeiting $10M back to the federal government. The town must get explicit federal approval before making any move.
(6/10)
Mundell (JM) and Councilmember Sarah Cruz (SC) supported this purchase, calling ARP money βa free loanβ because the town didnβt have to bond funds. SC even defended her vote 2 months ago in a tirade on civility. So what changed? (5/10)
03.12.2024 02:41 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Letβs see the written justification. π€ The Administrator, and Town Attorney approved this purchase. What exactly did they advise the Council about using ARP funds for this? If the Township Administrator allowed it, they may have enabled the illegal use of federal funds. Whoβs accountable? (4/10)

A slide from Remington and Vernick presentation which lists the purchase of VoTech as a stormwater improvement.
Most importantly, property was bought with $10M in ARP (American Rescue Plan) funds, claiming it would create Open Space. Was this even a legitimate use of federal funds? Can ARP money be used to purchase property? (3/10)
03.12.2024 02:41 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Mundellβs plan shifts the townβs financial burden, likely caused by revenue shortfalls next year, onto the district. If the school district declines, she can twist it into a campaign narrative: βThe district failed! The district refused to buy the school!β (2/10)

1/ Bloomfield residents should refuse to be saddled with additional tax burdens caused by converting the abandoned VoTech buildingβunused for yearsβinto a school. Mayor Mundellβs ultimatum to sell it to the school district is nothing more than a political game. 𧡠(1/10)

23.11.2024 17:21 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Like others, I fear the threat of government retribution, political vengeance and an angry right-wing mob. But I know that giving into it will only strengthen Trump and undermine the future of our democracy. Trump wants us to be scared. He wants us to give up β gradually and then suddenly.

Agree itβs time to rebuild our stateβs political parties. Iβm sick of party bosses anointing well-connected candidates, and fighting hard to prevent intelligent, caring, independent-thinking individuals from being welcomed into the party.
