I actually don't think this particular jacket was an overdye but I did try one on and they're so cool. This was at Self Edge in NYC which is really one of the only retail spaces that carries Iron Heart (and Samurai)

It's Iron Heart which is a Japanese brand designed with motorcyclists in mind and famed for using really heavy denim. I'm sort of obsessed with their "overdye" which is regular raw indigo double-dipped in black dye for looking extra cool

Nearly done upcycling this vintage breadbox into a watch box. Installed motion detecting lights too. Really happy with it so far and nice to work with my hands again :)

Denim on denim!! Such a sick cropped type 2 jacket from Japanese streetwear brand "Neighborhood." Distressing on it is really nice and it's the softest denim I've ever felt. Naturally it was hella $$ so I did not cop.... Not today.....

Have been sick in bed all day and just learned that there's something called Video Games? You're telling me I could have been saving princesses in castles all day from under my covers? I could have been catching all 151 Pokémon between Dayquil doses?

I've been buying more secondhand lately too which really gives some perspective on value for money.

There are a few things that I think are worth buying full price, especially if they are unique, from brands that don't discount, or have some sentimental value. Otherwise, sales are inevitable!!

Resisted the urge to buy a few full-price garments recently. Ended up finding opportunities to buy a few things that I 1) have had my eye on and/or 2) I will actually use a lot that were 3) on really good sales (archive/sample/store-closing). Got so lucky honestly. Patience paid off.

It's easy to second-guess whether I should bother messing with dual-mains in tournament when it sometimes yields terrible results (like this past week at my local), but then I hit such clean sequences with Peach...

This is LITERALLY called the Junebug jacket. It's inspired by beetle iridescence. It comes with a mosquito hood (to protect me from my lifelong adversaries).

Craig Anthony Miller is a prolific artist who paints hundreds (thousands?) of elephants in this stained-glass style. I had the pleasure of speaking with him a couple months ago at his studio. We talked about how Ganesh fits into his work. You can find his art all over Dumbo in Brooklyn.
