Black unemployment rate is 7.5% 🆙 from 6.1% last year

Black men - unemployment rate is 7.1% 🆙 from 5.9% last year

Black women - unemployment rate is 6.7% 🆙 from 5.5% last year

All Black children - ages 16-19 unemployment rate is 24.8% 🆙 from 17.9% last year

Black unemployment for men went down .4 of a percentage point from 5.6% to 5.2% while for women the unemployment is trending up from 5.1% in March to 6.1% in April to 6.2% in May #blacksky

Keishan Scott (D), a 24-year-old Bishopville city council member, won the SC House District 50 special election on 6/3, defeating William Oden (R) by a 41 points.

Scott ran on expanding access to healthcare, improving public education, empowering the local workforce & upgrading infrastructure.

Job Corps, a youth job training program, are closing June 30th effecting 30,000+ youth & workers.

Young people may be evicted, losing their source of food and healthcare.
