A very nice woman stopped her car to pick the tortoise out of the road.
I didn't intervene until she was having difficulty encouraging them into a nearby pond.
It all went pretty well.

It seems ridiculous, lights out was just a bit ago and yet growls at me transiting the living room around midnight, every time.

I can't imagine what he thinks of things but it must be colored by those first ~4 years in an outdoor hutch in Western VA.

He likes routine to a maybe unhealthy degree, same noises, people, etc.
But he's getting older and has been good for a while now.

I'll continue working on things like grumbling at me for getting milk, anything out of the kitchen too late.

I was trying so hard to think of a joke but that's about the gist of it.

Wasn't actually much to work with given some thought over the miles.

It's a good reason.

When I see stories like this I think back to when I was younger and we'd just set up chemistry projects in the driveway for space and ventilation.

It gets harder to imagine it was never a problem with plenty of people rubber necking as they drove by.

Saying hello and goodbye to Mom as she set out to educate the children of circus performers. The train was stopped near my place in Virginia then. We went on to visit some of her pupil's families in other countries and it was all very lovely, I'm sorry the Circus was so much less profitable than Monster Truck shows. :/
