It's literally just velocity of money. 100 people are going to spend more than 1 person will. Even if all 100 people and the 1 person lived frugally, 100 people buying the basics and necessities means more money moving than with the 1 person. Even non-frugally, 100 people are just more active.

It's better for society to have 10 people with $100M than one person with $1B. It's even better to have 100 people with $10M than one with $1B.

It bottoms out: you can't have 1B people with $1. But it's actively harmful to have lots of uber rich people hoarding wealth. They have dragonsickness.
