Anyway... makes me really grateful for commissioners who aren't artists themselves. I've never felt anything but immense respect and kindness from the fandom, and even a decade later with the microwaved version now available ya'll still are largely choosing to support artists <3

But that's the thing, somebody can't just generate what I'm doing, because I'm crafting something with care. It's the knowledge and skill that artists have built that makes what we do impressive and worthwhile.

I HAVE gotten discouraged while working and wondering why I put in the time and effort when somebody could just generate what I'm doing. Really sucks to feel like the purpose and direction and passion of my entire life suddenly became worthless

I kind of thought this went without saying but I keep seeing ding dongs who are tracing AI or pretending they drew it but just generating it etc. So there :T

!! I will not ever use AI in my commissions !! Client pays for hand-drawn, they damn well deserve the care and attention to detail of something hand-drawn 👍

Concept art for an anthropomorphic giraffe girl. She's fairly normal looking but one side depicts a more cutesy and shy version of her in comfortable and modest clothes, but another side depicts her night life where her hair is wild, her eyes are fierce, her makeup and patterns are sharper, and she's wearing punk goth attire accessorized with multiple chokers, torn clothes, and belts around her midsection. Some notes are scattered around the page: "Approximately 12 feet tall" "Hair/mane connects to whole back of neck" "Can only bend neck so far" "(Punk mode) Uses makeup to cover freckles and change patterns" "Reindeer girlfriend" (accompanied by a small silly doodle of a reindeer girl who's eyes are wide and glossy and surrounded by hearts)

Came back around to re-designing my giraffe girl, Magda. She's a timid librarian/secretary and a huge dork by day, but at night she puts on a punk-goth persona that draws out a bolder and wilder side that lets loose her bottled up emotions and inclinations.
