I think thats true, but there's also a growing uncertainty with PC gaming, due to how expensive parts are becoming.

Seems like Sony is placing their bets that average PC gamers will be priced out of their hobby, and will go to console eventually.

What really matters is the games being offered. Nintendo made lots of Switch 1 sales even late into its cycle, just by having an enticing catalog of exclusives.

Its selling for more because the cost of production skyrocketed and they dont want to front that cost anymore.
