The Greenland idea goes back (at least) to the 1st term, and there are some indications that it might trace back to, uhh, his handlers; Julia Davis, over on the Bad Place, had the receipts already back in 2022:

10.12.2024 10:25 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A great way to honor Finland's independence day is to sign this citizens' initiative that proposes Finland's withdrawal from the Ottawa treaty which bans anti-personnel mines. Joining made sense back then. It doesn't make sense now. Sign it and help Finland remain Finland and Russia in Russia.

Singers from The Polytech Choir gathered to sing and celebrate 106 years of Finnish Independence at the Hietaniemi cemetery in Helsinki.
The Heroes' Cross by sculptor Wรคinรถ Aaltonen, with three cadets standing guard with the Finnish flag.
It must be the time of year that makes Finland's Independence Day seem like such a somber occasion, but it is always a powerful moment and an honor to sing at the graves of those who fell defending that independence. Once again at the Heroes' Cross in Hietaniemi with The Polytech Choir.

Good morning, Tampere! Just switching trains, omw to Seinรคjoki for work. On the left, the dubiously named Solo Sokos Hotel Torni Tampere, and in the background on the right, the Daniel Libeskind desiged towers attached to Nokia Arena, also by him.

Hello, Bluesky! Had the unusual pleasure of being able to listen to my own choir, the Polytech Choir, sing. Works by the hidden gem of Finnish choral music, Aarre Merikanto, and others, including Jennah Vainio, Ismo Alanko, and Sibelius. The House of Nobility in Helsinki is always imposing.
