The exhibition opens with a carbon storyline and transformation projects. ๐Ÿ”„ It continues with 23 anecdotes and 22 carbon cases, using CarbonSpace, the free tool we developed to calculate embodied emissions. Visitors also find low-carbon materials and models of completed transformations.

Our design adds more functions with separate volumes for three auditoriums, a foyer space, cafรฉ, and back-of-house areas compactly combined into a single building. ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽฌ A porous ceramic faรงade refers to both theatre curtains and the cityโ€™s industrial textile history.

The faรงade features strong horizontal bands formed by two-metre-deep wraparound balconies. A "city to sky" transition shifts from crisp corners and mirrored glass to rounded forms and greater transparency upward. Balconies flare outward near the top to provide outdoor space for the Sky Villas.

A new way to mark the skyline ๐Ÿ™๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฎ We won the competition to design Inaura: a luxury hotel and residential tower in Downtown Dubai! Our design takes a different approach to stand out among its taller neighbours: a luminous, jewel-like orb nestled in between the building's floors.

Itโ€™s the fifth faรงade in a series of designs by MVRDV for Tiffany, introducing a new design motif that reflects the pursuit of innovative materials and expressive three-dimensional form. The translucent, textured glass fins rise vertically up the full four-storey height of the building.

๐Ÿšช Wooden Wonders showcases timber's potential for sustainability and heritage preservation. The exhibition covers five sections, from the "forest" and "workshop" to Chiayiโ€™s vision of becoming Taiwanโ€™s Wood Capital. The pavilion stands as a statement for the future of wood use in architecture.

The design reflects Chiayiโ€™s history, with roofs inspired by local buildings featuring diagonal cuts and intricate lines. ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ๐Ÿ“ Pastel gateways lead visitors into a courtyard, designed as an urban living room. The exhibition inside tells the story of timber, from local forests to modern construction.

This is Wooden Wonders: a timber pavilion and exhibition we designed for the 321st anniversary celebration of Chiayi City, Taiwan! ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ”จ Chiayi has a long history in wooden craftsmanship, with over 6,000 timber buildings still standing. We created a pavilion to explore this relationship with wood.
