CrossFit-style workouts. The gym used to be CrossFit until CrossFit HQ made it clear they don’t support women and (more recently) transgender athletes.

We can do that style of workout without aligning with that shitty organization

Coached my second group class at the gym today. I had one athlete show and it was a great session of instruction and meeting her where she is on her fitness journey.

Everyone can use a cheerleader now and then, and it has been the best part of my day so far!

When there’s additional “shareholder value” to be had? Nope!

Using these platforms with the understanding they are vying to keep your attention at least allows you to understand the power dynamic and, oddly, the value of your time.

I think the dopamine hunting and scrolling is the real downside, and it really comes down to the shifting intent of the social media platforms. What at first is an innovative platform to connect people becomes a business which profits off of user engagement, ad sales, and sales of user metrics.
