Electrobun pre-built binaries, entirely built in CI for all platforms. When you NPM install it will grab the cli for your architecture, the cli will then intelligently download any core and cef binaries needed for the targets you're building your app for and it'll package everything for you.

We're 66 betas in and probably a few more left to go before it's ready for external beta testing.

I have some more work to do around CI, and making sure the patch update mechanism actually works on all platforms. then I get to move onto docs and stuff

you can do this on any platform in theory since it's pulling pre-build electrobun binaries and dependencies that were built via github action, but currently MacOS is the only one I've implemented code signing and notarization for so it makes sense to do it there. Github actions has macos runners 😍

Electrobun update: I just got working the ability on macos to run a single command and build your app for all targets. Takes a couple minutes to generate distributable apps for `macos-arm64, macos-x64, linux-x64, linux-arm, windows-x64`

Note: windows-x64 works on ARM windows via automatic emulation

Electrobun update:

I just got it to compile for windows in CI. Before I had it compiling locally and ammending the github release with windows artifacts built in a local vm.

The problem was X64 CI VM needs baseline builds for bun, electrobun cli, and zig binaries to work in emulated ARM.

New workflow is to take a screenshot, crop it, and then take a screenshot of the crop and crop that.

I just noticed a bug on iOS where I take a screenshot and crop it and then add that image to slack and slack’s thumbnail is the full screen uncropped screenshot.

iOS is not sending the cropped version when you send it around it’s sending the full version to these apps.
