Venmo is owned by PayPal, aka the company that made Elon Musk and Peter Thiel rich. Avoid using it if at all possible, though there are no good alternatives AFAIK. All digital payment apps fund fascists to some degree or another.

This is wrong. Corporate social media sites aren’t just platforms, they are data mines, profit extractors, and propaganda distributors. They will not allow any real threat to the oligarchy come to power, but will polarize, divide, and distract all anti-oligarch users. #stigmergy #resistance

Also, it’s not possible to build an effective resistance movement on infrastructure owned and controlled by your opponent. They only let us grow until we become a real threat, then destroy everything we build in the blink of an eye and set us back YEARS while we rebuild elsewhere.

I disagree. Major corporate platforms profit from any and all engagement, and they are the very thing we need to overthrow. We can’t fight them if we’re actively feeding them, and “spreading the message” lets us feel proactive without bringing about real change.

Both Reddit and Tumblr unfortunately sell their content to AI companies for training, and have shady CEOs, so I try not to contribute to either one. I do think message boards need to make a comeback!
