*Proudly stubborn. It's a side effect of being confident that I know what I want. I want this kitty to be so happy! Especially because I'm pretty sure he's a vampire in disguise. He meowed until I picked him up and brought him to bed when he could have walked. So he must need inviting. Suspicious.

If I ever warm cat food with my breath or my body, please cancel my shows and call someone to intervene. Also, I have now prewarmed the cats sleeping area with a heating pad.

Someone told me their cat gets an upset tummy if they eat cold food. So I started gently heating the cats food if it comes from the fridge. I exaggerated and said I am hand warming it. But, guys ...they believed me. Am I THAT much of a new cat mom sucker? I guess they think so.

My down comforter blew a stitch in the night and I awoke covered in down feathers. Like a snow Phoenix I rose, in awe that my super power of being able to make a mess everywhere I go is finally confirmed. Is this my final form?

I sustained eye contact with a total stranger across the restaurant while I fingered a two foot long stretch of cheese dangling from my mouth in an attempt to wrestle it into an appropriate sized bite. They approved in a silent nod. I feel seen.

If I did this with yard remnants it would be made of dry leaves, empty branches, the strongest winter dandelions with stalks as thick as pinkies, and majestically shaped surprise dog pies. I like yours so much more. It even looks like it smells nice.

Today was the best day to put up the tree. So we did. And now I realize this will be the first time I've had a tree and a cat. And not just any cat, a wild bird-killing cat who thrives on adventure and aggressive cuddles. He's already claimed it. It's only a matter of time before tragedy strikes.

Today is the secont Saturday where my entire strategy of the day is centered around cleaning and organizing to prepare for company tomorrow. Today I must put away piles and piles of laundry. So, obviously, the first priority is to build a bookshelf.

I think I'm at that phase of life where I need to make real life buddies who can help me move furniture.

This is the way.

Apparently my design is so adorable she wants to press it to fabric, sew it together, stuff it with stuffing, and happily squish it. This is bad news for the thirty Tribbles she made out of the only craft stuffing I have earlier this year. And that's how a TRex also ate a Tribble tonight.

Shortly after this I began redesigning the game with her. She agreed that much of it seems unfair if you play the humans racing across the board to safety. I redesigned the shape of the board with her and somehow that lead to us needing a sewing machine.

Of course, this is still a disputed win, says my inner judge in my mind. I must replay this game and win fair and square. Except the rules are written in crayon and I'm fairly sure it's also being made up as we go. In which case, I am the first ever winner of "How To Catch A Tiny T-Rex"!

I thought of ways to balance the game play while the TRex game piece caught up to my human game piece. Then, in an unexpected twist, she let me win. This was especially surprising because she empathically told me no one had EVER made it to the end of the board before.

Tonight I learned a game my kid invented. It was entirely unfair in favor of her. I played along, my inner justice champion secretly judging the terrible game mechanics.

You, too!!! I can smell the herbs when I watch them. And when they *patpatpat* the dough. :happy sigh:

Update... I have now seen a recipe for old fashioned butter mints. And, though I do not have a mixer, I am convinced I can do this. Maybe the algorithm sent me something I can't resisit. Maybe it knew this was my weak spot.

My kid engineered her way into a high cupboard using interlocking tongs. She kept looking back at me. I'd smile and nod, she'd smile and nod back, then return to her task. Something about the silent approval and acknowledgement really struck me. No words exchanged. Just mutual appreciation.

I think the algorithm believes in me more than I believe in myself. I'm bombarded by recipe videos of various degrees of intensity. I don't know how to do these things. But I love watching people poke their fingers in the focaccia bread and the dough ball sort of deflates.

The algorithm is really trying to get to know me, and I appreciate it.
