Justice Department Proposes New Regulations to Modernize Foreign Agents Registration Act Administration and Enforcement The Justice Department submitted to the Federal Register yesterday a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to update and clarify regulations issued under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

DOJ just proposed the most significant changes to the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) in 30 years. Lots to unpack. Main change would significantly narrow the commercial exemptions; many global firms would need to reassess their FARA exposure.
