It’s deeper than that. Trump 1.0 felt like an anomaly. You guys re-elected him knowing all we know about him. He’s back and Trump 2.0 now feels like this is the US we’re dealing with now.

Canada should join the EU. And the G20 (or G19 at this point) should join forces and start the movement to become a trading block which excludes the US.
