My personal theory is that Donald Trump constantly reiterates that some entity is out to get them, is ripping them off, is taking advantage of them, etc. Then he suggests that it's those who are other than: native-born Americans, white, Christian, cis gender heterosexual. So they are PISSED.

One time in July 2024, Donald went missing for 10+ days. Biden was rising in the polls having spoken well at the UN, Epstein was in the news again, and Donald was in trouble. When he reappeared, it was in Butler PA. And the rest is history - and merch/grift.

I remember reading Gramsci and what I retained was that he said that the ruling class figured out how to convince everyone else that their needs would be met by fulfilling the needs of the wealthy. I'm sure that's not what he actually said.

I wasn't actually at Kent State, but I was close by at Penn State, and it could have happened at my school just as easily. We students were in such a state that the administration implemented a Pass/Fail system for Spring Term, so we didn't have to attend classes and could just go to protests.
