The Attorney General is an independent, executive office for a reason.
Itβs supposed to stand up for Texans β not bow to political pressure or abuse its power.
This is our chance to return the office to the people it was meant to serve.
Texas Republicans are breaking the law β again.
Without any legal authority, the Comptroller removed women and minorities from a state program supporting small businesses.
They're attacking hardworking Texans to destroy the separation of powers.
It's time for new leadership.
The Attorney General is suing to end state work-study programs because they aren't funding Christian instruction.
Yet again, Republican leaders are putting a political agenda above working Texans.
As AG, I will expand opportunity, not fight the programs helping people succeed.
The Attorney General should be the peopleβs attorney, not the presidentβs lapdog.
Honored to talk at #Tribfest about my vision for a Texas AG that takes on price gougers, roots out corruption, and honors the rule of law.
Thatβs the job, and itβs time Texas had a good lawyer.
BREAKING: Attorney General Paxton filed an appeal to uphold Republicansβ racist congressional maps.
These are the same maps a Trump-appointed judge rejected for violating the constitution.
Texans deserve an AG who defends their rights, not one fighting to take away their voice.
This week, a Trump-appointed judge tossed out Republicansβ gerrymandered maps.
Another judge halted Republicans' law forcing the Ten Commandments into classrooms.
Two courts, two losses β I think it's time for a Texas Attorney General who can actually read the Constitution.
If you believe Texas deserves an Attorney General who works for people β not donors, not political bosses, not Donald Trump β Iβm asking you to join us.
This campaign is about restoring integrity and protecting Texans.

As Attorney General, I will return the office to its purpose:
β
Defending the civil, political, and human rights of ALL Texans
β
Protecting consumers from scams and making markets competitive
β
Enforcing environmental laws and holding polluters accountable
β
Rooting out corruption
The power of the Attorney Generalβs office has been abused to benefit the wealthy and well-connected.
Instead of protecting Texans, the OAG has wasted time and resources with bogus attacks on political opponents and culture wars.
Texans are paying the price of this abuse of power.
In 2018, I flipped Texas Senate District 16 β a seat Republicans held for over 30 years. By 8 points.
Since then, Iβve passed over 130 bills, leading on access to health insurance, child health, consumer protection, grid security, government transparency, and basic fairness in the law.
Before elected office, I spent decades as an attorney, a small business owner, and problem-solver.
I worked with people at their best and their worst.
That taught me something simple: the law should be a force for stability, clarity, and fairness β not chaos and not greed.
I didnβt come to public service the traditional way.
I grew up the son of a VA psychologist and a social worker β two people who spent their lives helping veterans and families in crisis.
Watching them, I learned that service is not a slogan, itβs a calling.
I just filed to run for Texas Attorney General with my daughter by my side.
Iβm running because I believe that the Attorney General should stand between Texans and anyone who would exploit them β whether itβs a corporation or a politician.
I will always fight for you. Let's do this!
Texas Republicans had a bad day in court. Federal judges stopped:
βTheir unconstitutional, racist redistricting
βThe unconstitutional law forcing the 10 Commandments into our classrooms.
We need an Attorney General who understands the Constitution and fights to defend it.
Thank you @dentontogether.bsky.social and @untdems.bsky.social for hosting the first Texas Attorney General Democratic Primary debate of the 2026 election cycle.
The wind is at our backs. It's time to turn Texas Blue.
From running the HEROES project for veterans and military families, to expanding access to help and ensuring justice in veteran treatment courts, to upholding veteran rights in lending, employment, and leave programs, Iβll make sure Texas keeps its promises to those who served.
