my current idea is 10x8TB 3.5" SDDs with dual parity on unraid so 64TB with a 1TB nvme cache

huge unraid W: samba shares just worked on my phone with literally zero extra configuration. ive never been able to get this to work with windows

Kind of blown away. 24 hours ago I had never assembled a computer from separate parts or hosted a #homelab server.

Now my #Unraid installation is tugging along, with my MacBook using it as a backup target, with AdGuard serving the home wifi, and remote access enabled thanks to #Tailscale.

New home server build incoming. Just waiting on the Jonsbo N5 case and motherboard to arrive.

Super excited to build my first unraid server. i5 14600k, 32gb Ram, 2x 1TB Samsung Evo 990 (1- Boot, 2- Cache) and an external Zigbee antenna and WiFi Bluetooth card for Home Assistant.

If you have an old (gaming) PC, transform it into a home server.

I run UNRAID and use it as a NAS (backups, media etc) but also run self-hosted apps like Paperless, immich, Jellyfin, searXNG, and AnythingLLM & Ollama for local LLMs and RAG with my old GPU.

There's lots of great, self-hostable OSS!

today's big project is gonna be getting the unraid box set up. still waiting on a 3D printed HDD caddy to cram one more drive into it, but I can add that later on no problem

kinda wish I had the forethought to *just* get this one machine to run everything instead of 2 PCs but oh well

Love how easy it is to connect to my unraid server and access the containers it’s running remotely with Tailscale. Trial run this week to visit family, we’ll see how their jellyseer requests go 😅

I have created a monster, and am very very pleased with the results 😊

I even setup a virtualized gaming PC within this server, using 4 cores and direct access to the RTX 3060. This works as a Steam remote-play and Moonlight/Sunshine host. Works a treat. Don't think I have a use for it, but neat!

Awesome new use case for my server— setting up an iTunes Server host via OwnTone. Just a few clicks later I’m able to stream my whole music library to Apple Music on my work laptop. 🎶 💻 🎶

Slowly getting there. 60TB array is back online. Need some more drives to fill out this machine and get to 100. #unraid

The last major purchase for LAN parties. Now the room will have 4x10g drops and 8x2.5g drops, all with a 10g link to the UnRAID server/LANCache. Over kill for even a professional LAN.

Looks like I'm buiding a giant NAS. Got the motherboard & power supply in. Waiting for the case, which can hold 10-12 drives, processor, RAM and the first three drives. Already purchased an @unraid.net license. Gonna be fun and, eventually, stress relieving.

The Kernel wasreverted from v6.12.25 → v6.12.24.

This fixes a regression causing Docker/VM Manager hangs on ZFS volumes.
