Regarding (1) - for climatological purposes Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 should probably be aligned to the temperature cycle, but just don't call them the same words as the meterological seasons.

Winter lasts longer than three months and I'm tired of being gaslit.

1) Astronomy doesn't *have* any seasonality and shouldn't pretend it does. Just refer to Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 or to specific months.

2) Meteorological seasons are not equal length and shouldn't pretend they are.
Winter - Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb
Spring - Mar/Apr
Summer - May/Jun/Jul/Aug
Autumn - Sept/Oct
