These are dark times for organisations in the immigration sector, and like many small charities, we're finding the funding environment particularly tough.
So we've launched our annual Crowdfunder a bit earlier this year, please share and support us if you can.

Everyone in immigration detention had a story to tell, family and friends waiting for them and a life to live.
Indefinite detention hurts many people.

Quotes from people in detention about the benficial impact of Scottish Detainee Visitors' visiting service.
Knowing that someone cares and takes the time to visit #Dungavel makes a real difference to people detained there, as these quotes from people we've visited show.
If you'd like to help us keep making that difference, please consider making a donation.

We're thrilled to have been awarded a grant by Gateway Exchange, administered by @foundationscotland.bsky.social, towards our visiting service to people in Dungavel. The grant will really help us to continue to provide practical, social & emotional support to people detained indefinitely in Scotland

06.03.2025 18:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Many cells in UK detention centres are smaller than an average parking space. People are detained there by the Home Office without a time limit, often for months or years at a time, locked in that tiny space for up to 12 hours a day. This has to stop. It's time for a time limit.

Automatic deportation is heartless π
For #ValentinesDay, we asked people about the policy removing people from the UK without automatic legal advice, including those born/raised here, survivors of torture & more.
How would you feel if this happened to someone you love?

On Valentine's Day, we're thinking about all the people in detention not able to be with their partners.
We do our best to support the people we visit in Dungavel, but it can't make up for being separated from the people they love, not knowing how long that separation will last.
Our Annual Conference just wrapped up this week, and we are leaving with fire, strategy and radical hope.
As the UK doubles down on detention, we are growing stronger, bolder & more connected in our fight for freedom & dignity.
π No one should be locked up for seeking safety.
