Finally caught the Ruth Asawa show at SFMOMA and fell in love with these pieces that seem tailor made for a swinging space-age pad.

I was sort of feeling that crime was down in San Francisco but then I went downtown and saw some shady characters. Not so sure now. National Guard when?

Last weekend the Bob Baker Marionette Theater came to the Circus Center in SF and it was a grand time.

Had a grand time with the Dambo Trolls at Filoli just south of SF. Beautiful grounds and the trail with these creatures was a beautiful stroll.

Finally hit up the Santa Cruz Boardwalk as summer winds down. Cave Train ride is looking sharp and I love the pirate mini golf course.

Lots of great American movies being preserved with NFPF grants this year, including Jean Harlow in early sound film WEAK BUT WILLING (1929), early Owen Land shorts, 4 by Kentucky animator Ed Counts, Ohio promotional films, color home movies of Herbert Hoover at the White House, and many more.

50th anniversary of Knott’s Bear-y Tales, an amazing experience. Walked through ride before park opened, saw restored weirdos thanks to @mrzeugirdor93.bsky.social, folks who made the ride with Rolly Crump, and of course a signing of the magnificent tome by @cdylanm.bsky.social & Eric Lynxwiler.

Took one last ride on Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue last night. Sad to see any dark ride heading out to pasture, but I’m intrigued to have Jake Sully come to my rescue.
