Abstract for Braude et al. (2021) "Inter-colony invasion between wild naked mole-rat colonies."

A field study found that naked mole-rats invade rival colonies to expand their territories and kidnap rivals' offspring, similar to slave-making ants. Eusociality could be an adaptation to mitigate and deter territory and offspring losses. 🧪
