don't be fooled by Trump's changes in Minnesota. he doesn't care about the suffering being endured by individuals who've been harmed, abducted, or killed by ICE. what he does care about is optics and that he's being criticized by his own allies. it's never about anyone else's humanity but his own.

whenever America gets out of this chapter, we need a process of public accountability — Kristi Noem, Greg Bovino, and everyone complicit in a Nuremberg-style trial where they are made to own the horrors they've inflicted. we can't just move on after this.

this morning I recorded a TikTok video about white people who’ve wondered what side they’d be on in historical atrocities and are doing nothing in this moment — how the way you comport yourself now is your answer. 10 hours later the video is still under review. first time that’s happened.

growing up in a Jewish household, we talked about the "good people" during the Holocaust who stood by and did nothing, and how that passivity was its own evil that aided and abetted the Nazis. think of that as you take stock of what the Democrats and other "good people" you know are up to right now.

if you're a journalist using the passive voice or failing to use the exact terms, consider it a dereliction of duty. the NYT and other outlets are complicit in this moment for their continuous sane-washing of the Trump regime's violent and fascistic depravity.

it is literally the job of journalists and publications to use the right words when they witness and document. what is happening in Minneapolis is an OCCUPATION, ICE doesn't merely detain, it ABDUCTS, and protesters aren't dying in confrontations with federal agents, they are being MURDERED BY ICE.

watched Heated Rivalry, flew through the season in a night. grateful for such a heartfelt + hot queer show in this time of censorship. fitting that the series is Canadian, since the U.S. government is repressing LGBTQ rights and culture. Hollywood would be wise to see the success and follow suit.

there is only one correct reaction to ICE murdering a woman in Minneapolis and that it's horrible and indefensible, but of course the Trump administration is going to try. for months, many have warned that something like this was inevitable and here we are.

Let’s be very clear. Maduro is horrible but the U.S. kidnapping a leader has nothing to do with rebuilding democracy and everything to do with oil, American, and Trump’s interest in the region. At home, the U.S. inciting conflict elsewhere enables Trump to restrict public life in the states.

Trump, who’s not been held accountable for his own corruption and crimes, is now ordering the U.S. to go into another country to capture a leader with zero transparency or Congressional oversight, for their crimes. Watch as the admin installs another dictator, just one friendlier to Trump.

right now it’s esp nice to see multiple popular shows with unapologetic queer storylines and characters (who aren’t always likable!) between Pluribus, Heated Rivalry, and Stranger Things. certainly would like to see more variety in their identities but refreshing given the conservative moment.

moved by Stranger Things handling of Will’s coming out and glad that a hit TV show isn’t shying away from an enthusiastic affirmation of a queer character at this moment of censorship and backlash towards LGBTQ rights. his friends and family physically and emotionally embraced him. that’s important.

we're seeing the Streisand Effect in action over Bari Weiss's decision to pull the 60 Minutes CECOT story. other than regular viewers, most of us probably never would've known about its existence if not for the censoring. Weiss has not only revealed her lack of ethics but that she's also feckless.

It’s a beautiful thing when people change, but demonstrating sincere change happens through accountability, naming harm and working towards repair, and showing change through actions over time. Until Marjorie Taylor Greene does that, proceed with extreme caution and healthy skepticism.

Trump loves a photo op with a popular person and often functions as a weather vane with press and public opinion. This coupled with Zohran Mamdani's deft ability to find common ground as I expect he did in the meeting explains the reaction. Trump backstabs, so don't be surprised when he does a 180.

Children who appear to be "barely legal" are still children. I cannot even believe that I have to write that.

Next time someone says that drag queens are a danger to children remember that a cis white woman named Megyn Kelly was the one who justified Trump's connection to Jeffrey Epstein's predatory behavior because the victims appeared to be "barely legal."
