Like I’ll see posts on my TikTok fyp or following page and it’s from like September. Why?

When can I get an app that gives me the choice between chronological OR algorithmic feeds?

I know there’s “for you” vs “following” on most apps, but even the following page is still an algorithm and shows posts to you out of order.

I miss chronological feeds.

TO CLARIFY: this is not world ending misogyny and there are bigger things going on in the world and I understand that.

But it is interesting to look inward and ask yourself if you have some internalized misogyny fueling your hatred toward these women.

Okay end rant.

Now to get to my point, I think the vitriol toward POV creators comes from jealousy and also misogyny.

A) you are jealous that they have made a career by being “cringe” storytellers on the internet

The “crimes” these women made are simply just being a little too cringy for your (generic) liking. And people harassed them until they either left the app(temporarily), or responded (like NN did in character), to which the internet responded with more hate.

And now one creator was **lightly** making fun of the customer service/hairdresser (ALSO FEMME DOMINATED CAREERS IRL) skits and TikTok took that and **ran** to Theresa to start on her.

So I feel like the internet one day collectively decided that if they can’t rid the videos, they can at least get rid of the creator from making more. They just need the right catalyst.

Mathmanx was the one video (which still makes me mad she got cancelled for)

(Again there are exceptions, I’m talking broadly).

And for whatever reason, people are starting to *hate* anything they find “cringy”. I kind of blame the rise of the 5 minute craft duets. Because no matter how much you block a creator (or genre of them) you end up getting the duets of them.

Now going to POVs/skits on TikTok, this is also a woman-dominated “field”. Men do make them but generally the comments don’t get too personally. Especially if he is conventionally attractive. It’s like “lol cringe but also you’re hot”

When men do those jobs, it is looked down upon (societally) because they are doing “women’s work”. This has gotten better but it is still pervasive. People are going to assume the male healthcare provider is the doctor and the female is a nurse, for example.

First; look at how society treats women (can sub femme if you don’t align with woman specifically) dominated careers: teaching (especially elementary), nursing/nursing aid (compared to a physician), secretaries, etc

I have this theory that creators like Nursery Nurse, Mathmanx, and Theresa Van Dam getting bullied off TikTok (even if temporarily) is fueled by misogyny and I have no one to talk about it with so to the void of the internet I call.
