Horner definitely isn't blameless but Helmut's role is running the driver development programme and with his influence over Verstappen it seems he just has the final say in anything driver related.

The Liam Lawson situation is entirely Helmut Marko's fault. I like Liam, he got to F1 the hard way and deserves a shot... But Yuki was the obvious first choice for the main Red Bull seat alongside Verstappen and he is immensely popular... It put Liam in an unnecessarily difficult situation.

Max Verstappen led the #F1 Drivers Championship for 1029 consecutive days.

He was loathed for winning in a dominant car, blamed for making the sport boring due to his dominance and generally someone a lot of people loved to hate.

But now he's the underdog... he's about to go on his babyface arc!

If Piastri didn't lose it when he did, he would've passed Lando when he lost it and likely would've won the race.

I like Lawson, particularly his story, but right now Yuki deserved the chance... Lawson could have done with another year in VCarb to continue to build himself up too, the pressure isn't going to be great for him.

So with the F1 grid now finalised... Yuki is spending another year at a junior team, Colapinto doesn't have a drive, Bottas is a reserve driver, Magnusson and Zhou are out of the sport...

And this man, who beached his car on a warm up lap, is gearing up for another season in a prime seat.

We're at a point where there needs to be rules enforced to protect the integrity of the sport, seats have to be rewarded based on merit and Yuki has absolutely left no doubt that he deserved the seat on that basis.

The nepotism alone in the sport is bad enough.
