Four years since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, over 13,000 civilians have been killed and up to 7 million people have fled the country, while over 10.8 million more inside Ukraine remain in need of aid.
The LWF continues to support affected people and communities. 🙏

Early in 2025, the LWF, UNHCR, and local partners announced the opening of underground schools in Kharkiv, Ukraine, ensuring safe in-person learning for more than 3,000 children whose schools have been destroyed by the war.

In May, Lutheran churches in Taiwan hosted the LWF Global Mission Consultation, building on the landmark "Mission in Context: Transformation, Reconciliation, Empowerment", published in 2004. 🌏

In March, the LWF held the first leadership seminar for general secretaries in the Africa region. More than 30 participants came together to enance their leadership skills and make stronger connections throughout the communion. 🤝
