03.12.2024 19:02 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I am having a tsunami of recruiters pinging me in LinkedIn all of a sudden, and the only thing that makes sense for the sudden onslaught is that I posted something the other day for the first time in months. Can it be that? Someone else experienced something similar?
02.12.2024 18:25 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Data showing the top 16% of remote workers outperform the top 5% in-office, while the bottom 12% underperform the bottom 5% in-office, makes sense.
Top performers thrive with extra time from no commute, but underperformers struggle without oversight. RTO penalizes top talent for othersโ inability.
The first one, it was software embedded in a Point of Sales.
The second one was an old monolith in Java using a library for building the UI I can't honestly remember the name of. Thinlet?
Anyway, in both cases I was more fullstack than backend.
The reason why I only learned about this recently is that I actually started my career first developing in C, and then in Java. So I was technically a Backend, right?
After some thought I realized that I actually enjoyed those projects because in both cases I could see the result of my work visually
TIL "umlaut"
Mine is not as cool as yours, though, not an umlaut que ho salvi xD
I've learned something about myself lately: I would not be happy being a Backend developer. Frontend, yes. Fullstack, yes. Mobile, also yes. Full BE... no.
I started learning Kotlin and while the language is beautiful I abandoned quite fast.
I just started Swift and I am enjoying the ride A LOT!
I've said this before but I'm saying it again: when you're looking at your job, you should have:
- Good pay
- Good culture
- Good growth opportunities
If you have 2/3, it's not too bad, but 0 or 1/3, you might want to question why you're still at that job.
