In 1797, when Lemuel J. Alston laid out the village of Pleasantburg (now Greenville), Court Square was designed as a destination, not an intersection to rush through. For over a century, it was Greenville's open-air living room—home to markets, hotels, and civic debate.

It’s time to reimagine Stone Avenue, a dangerous SCDOT road that—along with Academy Street—separates downtown Greenville from the North Main neighborhood. Just imagine if Stone had wider sidewalks, protected bike lanes, and only two lanes of car traffic with a center median.

Washington Street: Bike Lane or Parking Lot?
That single line of paint clearly isn’t enough on Washington Street. This photo, taken on a Sunday morning (second image), shows cars blocking both sides of the street, leaving cyclists with nowhere safe to ride. 1/3

My final commute into the old office. A little rainy, but still a good time to reminisce about all the times I've ridden this route over the years in all kinds of weather. Not too many people would say they miss their commute after going fully remote, but it definitely feels like the end of an era.

Such a disgrace to the state of South Carerdddd.

Congrats to Lisa Murkowski on voting for a bill that she herself admitted was not ready in hopes that the House would change it. Now it’ll become law. She had the power to stop it, and instead chose to become complicit. That’s her legacy.

Getting lost in the coverage of the Trump's BIG Billionaires bill is that it provides $75 billion dollars in funds for Trump to 1. create a personal army of 10,000 ICE agents and 2. build massive concentration camps to hold people. This will NOT end with immigrants- that is where it begins!

Here is a perfect example of why pedestrian and bicyclists fatalities are up in the United States.

Much as I would not dare to predict the consequences of this war, I do think we can summarize it thusly so far:

A smart and evil man manipulated a stupid and evil man into a war against a fanatical and evil regime.

Netanyahu has spent the better part of two decades trying to strong arm the United States into an unprovoked war against Iran and finally found a president stupid enough to do it for him. Unbelievable.

Trump lies about everything, and now we are entangled in a foreign war with this incompetent administration in charge. When the retribution comes, the blood will be on their hands.

Is anyone really surprised that "I will end all wars on day one" really meant "I will start a new war without congressional approval?"

Imagine Main Street redesigned for everyone. Beyond the vibrant street life, the true beauty of a #carfree Main Street lies in its radical inclusivity. Every time we propose reimagining downtown for people, we hear concerns that it will "hurt" those with mobility issues. But let's look at the facts.

Sharing this from my Insta stories. The city is listening, but we have to let them know that we support a #carfree Main Street.

I just started experimenting with Google's new Flow and Veo 2 tools to (you guessed it) generate more #carfree Main Street content. Flow's only doing horizontal video for now and I can't use my own images as keyframes yet – but it looks like a very promising tool for visualization!

As I did last year, I'll be riding in memory of my friend Peter Dudle, who was killed by a negligent driver while riding his bike in September of 2023.

Driver's, watch for cyclists. We want to get home to our families like everyone else.

The Greenville #RideofSilence, along with events around the world, will take place tomorrow, May 21st at 7:00 pm. As always, the mission of the ride is to honor bicyclists killed by motorists, promote sharing the road, and provide awareness of bicycling safety.
